2022 Ford Mustang price and specs: Burnout manner and California Special edition added

Ford's iconic sports car gains a new California Special edition, and the previously off-limits Line Lock burnout mode – but prices have also risen for the new year's day.

The 2022 Ford Mustang will proceeds a new California Special edition in Australia next year, every bit information technology enters its final years on sale – in addition to a 'burnout mode' previously off-limits to local buyers.

Fastback variants can be had with a 'operation' rear wing, while the convertible gets a rear spoiler delete as standard.



The range of available exterior colours has expanded for 2022, now comprising 11 colours including Mischievous Regal, Eruption Green, Atlas Blueish and Cyber Orangish – with a total list added at the lesser of this story. All colours bar Race Red and Oxford White cost an extra $650.

Notwithstanding, Yellow Peel, Antimatter Blue, Velocity Blue, Twister Orange and Iconic Silvery have been discontinued for Model Year 2022 – despite some colours only joining the range for MY21. The aforementioned Mischievous Purple and Eruption Green will be available from March 2022 production onwards.

No changes have been made to engines, meaning the entry-level 2.3L High Performance retains its 236kW/448Nm 2.iii-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, while the GT (including California Special) upgrades to a 339kW/556Nm five.0-litre naturally-aspirated V8.

Power in coupe models is sent to the rear wheels through a choice of six-speed transmission or 10-speed automatic transmissions, with the convertibles bachelor solely with the 10-speed motorcar.

The 2022 Ford Mustang will go far in Australian showrooms in the second quarter of side by side twelvemonth (Apr to June).
